Loving that new face on the Spark.

That Ford Fiesta sedan....why...just.....why? I would really rather have acid thrown in my face than to stare at that thing for more than 10 seconds. Jesus....

My mom replaced our last car (rip 323CI) with a 2017 manual Kia Rio, some plus version of the base model. It works, and was like low $20k (Canadian). I mean as a mode of transport it decent, nothing special. But bluetooth and heated seats and stuff is nice I guess.

Wait you can really get a 2016/2017 car without A/C in the US?
![]() 11/29/2016 at 14:54 |

Sadly the Sonic is losing its Quad headlights in favor of the “just like everything else” brand image front end.

found it via this, which actually has several cars on it. MOSTLY from FCA http://oppositelock.kinja.com/every-new-car-for-sale-without-air-conditioning-1765310475

No more quad headlights on the Sonic for 2017:
The Dart is dead, the Corolla and Versa Note got beat up with the ugly stick:
Car designs just keep getting worse, or I just keep getting older.

I kinda of don’t mind the sonic as well

that’s about the only thing I liked of that car

What the hell is Japan doing with their car styling???
![]() 11/29/2016 at 15:02 |

Yeah, and the new front end isn’t horrible it even looks kinda butch, something unique in the sub compact market, but the quad he and light was something that really set the Sonic appart. That said it’s also why my wife wasn’t interest in the Sonic, she hated the way the front end looked, I guess she wasn’t the only one.

I don’t know, but Mazda and Subaru seem to be doing just fine. But Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti and Honda/Acura are producing the ugliest cars in the market IMO.

Our cheapest offering is the Dacia Sandero, from £5995/$7200ish

I had a Kia Rio as a rental in Puerto Rico a few weeks ago. It was... a car. And that’s about all I can say about it.
It wasn’t terrible, by any means. There was just nothing special about it, either. It did the job it was supposed to do adequately, and nothing more.
![]() 11/29/2016 at 15:32 |

Counterpoint: my Versa Note has super cold A/C. It’s the bomb.
Everything else...eh.

It’s a damn shame but you can no longer get the Fit in Passion Berry Pearl, the greatest color in the history of automobiles. Still a great car though, love driving it everyday.
![]() 11/29/2016 at 15:36 |

We give the colonials a nice subcompact car with a badge they recognize, and look what they did to it! Such a shame.
![]() 11/29/2016 at 15:39 |
|
You are getting older, but you also couldn’t be more correct. We’ve had eras when cars were almost offensively generic looking. But this, right now, they combine generic with full on ugly. There are very few new cars out there that, imho, look
good
.
![]() 11/29/2016 at 15:52 |

Ow, its not just the colonials, my friend. Spain and Portugal seem to be infested with these subcompact-hatch-mutulated-into-a-sedan things too.
![]() 11/29/2016 at 16:25 |

What about the 500? :O
More expensive at $16,995 USD.
![]() 11/29/2016 at 16:27 |

thought about it, had it on the list, but it’s kind of like a dart and I wanted it to be an even 10
![]() 11/29/2016 at 17:00 |

Nah, you are right. Most new cars are absolutely hideous. Except for the new Fords. They are the only universally attractive new cars in my opinion.

Good news!
Seriously, their entire range is around 12k USD, or can be leased for less than a TV box.

Counterpoint: Leftover FiSTs are 17-20k depending on how good your negotiation skills are

No more Yaris :(
![]() 11/29/2016 at 20:29 |

I direct you to the asterisk. Definitely talking base models here. I love the FiST

The Spark and the Sonic are the same car, right? I mean, one is a hatch and the other a sedan, but really, is there any other actual, significant difference?
![]() 11/29/2016 at 22:21 |
|
Nope they are different cars entirely, Spark is what ever is smaller than a sub compact and Hatchback only, and Sonic is sub-compact and sedan or hatchback.

Nissan Micra starts at $10k Canadian, and there’s a Spec Micra Cup!
![]() 11/30/2016 at 21:07 |

Hmm. The differences must be subtle, cause I’ve never been able to tell them apart!
